Music Trendsetter [Chart 7 = September 3 - 9, 2011]

My apologies for not updating the charts for the past few weeks. Anyhow, we're here again to track the top ten songs that are trending the airwaves for the past week. We've got two new entries in our countdown, dropping an OPM track and one of the longest resident songs out in our charts for this week. I miss making a quick reviews on the new tracks seating in the charts. So, let's get the ball rolling and begin knowing these two new tracks that graced our trendsetter list for the week.

Entering at the eight spot is from an indie hipster pop ground Foster the People's "Pumped Up Kicks". This song was considered as a crossover and a sleeper hit, garnering airplay on various modern rock and contemporary hit radio station. Pumped Up Kicks received a lot of positive reviews from music critics due to its upbeat music and eerie vocal harmonies. The melody is very catchy; its electro-lite dance pop tune will certainly draw partygoers attention, as well as those just listening to their iPods and MP3s. Nevertheless, this track is one of the best summer song of 2011.

The highest new entry in the trendsetter list is from K-Pop rising idols INFINITE with their song Be Mine, gracing at the seventh spot. After debuting in South Korea last year, INFINITE gained positive reviews from their fans and K-Pop critics with this song. Be Mine is a song about the guys protecting a girl who is being bombarded with bullets. Its ironic presentation of melancholic lyrics and upbeat tune make their fans begging for more. Also, their choreography in their video is highly commendable.

In our Trendsetter list this week, Katy Perry and Britney Spears drops from their respective positions last week, sharing the ninth spot with their songs Last Friday Night and I Wanna Go. Foster the People and INFINITE enters the charts with their songs Pumped Up Kicks and Be Mine at numbers eight and seven spot respectively. Lady Gaga's Yoü and I drops a notch this week, placing at number six. The Asian groups 2NE1 and Kis-My-Ft2 shares the fouth spot with their songs Ugly and Everybody Go. Bad Meets Evil and Bruno Mars manages to seat on the third spot with their collaboration track entitled Lighters.  Maroon 5 and Christina Aguilera's Moves Like Jagger maintains their spot at number two. Lastly, the kings of K-Pop Super Junior keeps holing the crown as the Top Trendsetter Song of the week with Mr. Simple.
